Sintra Festival
A unique Music Festival set in Sintra´s Historical Venues

During the months of June and July the Sintra Festival attracts to the region a large number of music lovers, owing to the quality of the artists and the program, which is entirely made up
of a piano repertoire from the Romantic period, with the best interpreters of the present international music milieu. The various concerts (about twelve) usually take place in churches, palaces (Palácio da Vila, Palácio da Pena and Palácio de Queluz), as well as in parks and
country estates of the region.

Horse-drawn Carriages
Feel like a true Prince or Princess through the secret paths of Sintra villa

Horse-drawn carriages are available for hire between the town and the Serra. It is well worth trying this means of transport, for a most agreeable trip under shady trees to the "glorious paradise" of which Lord Byron spoke. The carriages start from and return to the large square in front of the National Palace of Sintra.

This Market dates back to the time of the Christian Reconquest. In the time of Dona Maria I it was subjected to municipal regulations and is the most characteristic event of the kind in the Borough of Sintra, owing to the quality and diversity of the products transacted.
It is held on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month.
